Wife of Gov. Newsom posts tweet demanding critics ‘stop hating’ on him

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), who survived a recall vote earlier this year, has seemingly been completely vanished from the public spotlight since he announced the cancellation of a trip he was scheduled to take to a climate summit in Scotland.

According to Fox News, Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, generated headlines this week after she posted a bizarre tweet demanding that critics of her husband “stop hating,” and “get a life,” suggesting that her husband was dealing with unknown family issues.

“It’s funny how certain folks can’t handle truth,” the governor’s wife tweeted.

She added: “When someone cancels something, maybe they’re just in the office working; maybe in their free time they’re at home with their family, at their kids’ sports matches, or dining out with their wife. Please stop hating and get a life.”

Sacramento Bee politics reporter Sophia Bollag captured a screenshot of Jennifer’s tweet, which unsurprisingly generated significant feedback from social media users attempting to figure out where the California governor has been for the past month.

Bollag went on to report in a separate tweet that the governor’s wife is apparently keeping silent about whatever obligations have kept Gov. Newsome virtually non-existent in the public eye for several weeks.

“Gavin Newsom’s office has refused to say what “family obligations” caused him to cancel his trip to the big UN climate change conference in Scotland. Seems like that’s what his wife, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, is referencing here,” Bollag tweeted.

For someone like Gov. Newsom, who absolutely loves the media spotlight and takes every opportunity to make a statement for his media allies, it’s certainly quite odd that he’s been off the grid, and even more strange given the fact that nobody seems to know why.
