Never one to stay mum about the failures of the current administration, former President Donald Trump last week blasted current President Joe Biden over his disastrous handling of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, declaring the debacle to be caused by “the dumbest move ever made perhaps in the history of our country,” as Fox News reports.
During an exclusive interview on Sean Hannity’s prime time network show, Trump slammed the “woke” generals with whom Biden has surrounded himself, diverting military priorities away from national security in favor of far-left causes.
“Biden and the woke generals are just woke. I was saying even at the end of my time, I was seeing letters being sent out about equality and all of these different things – the soldiers, they want to fight, they want to be prepared to fight, they want to be soldiers, but the woke generals, it has got into a level that nobody can even believe,” Trump lamented.
A prime example, perhaps, of the all-consuming wokeness that has gripped the leadership of America’s armed forces is the fact that on the very day 13 U.S. troops were killed near the airport in Kabul, Michael Grinston, Sergeant Major of the Army, took to Twitter to highlight – of all things – Women’s Equality Day and trumpet the need for greater diversity within the military.
Though Biden has attempted to blame the decisions of his predecessor for creating the conditions now seen on the ground in Afghanistan, he was having none of it during his discussion with Hannity, saying that while he certainly supported the concept of withdrawing from the country, Biden went about the process in a backwards manner.
“They forgot one thing, they forgot to take the people with them and the merchandise with them, meaning they forgot to take the greatest military equipment anywhere in the world with them, and it’s hard to believe, actually, because a child would have understood,” Trump explained.
Now that a group of U.S. service members is dead due solely to Biden’s incompetence, in Trump’s estimation, the former president believes that the entire episode will go down in history as one of the most catastrophic series of decisions ever made by an American president.
“It’s so sad. It’s probably from the standpoint of military tactics and just embarrassment, the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to our country; we look like fools all over the world, we are weak, we are pathetic, we are being led by people that have no idea what they are doing,” Trump opined.
As the devastating events in Kabul have continued to unfold, Trump has been steadfast in his belief that Biden is no longer fit to serve, saying earlier this month, “It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen to Afghanistan,” a sentiment with which growing numbers of Americans certainly agree.
