Teen star of ‘Toddlers & Tiaras,’ Kailia Posey, dead at 16

Fans of the hit television series Toddlers & Tiaras received tragic news over the weekend, as it was revealed that one of the show’s teenage stars had died.

According to Page Six, it was announced that Kailia Posey, 16, had died unexpectedly. The teen star’s death was confirmed by her mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman, in a Facebook post over the weekend. A cause of death was not included in the announcement.

“I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone,” the grieving mother wrote. “Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”

Posey had already become famous on the show early on, as one of her facial expressions on the show, as a much younger girl, was transformed into a meme that is recognized around the world.

While details remain mum, a Whatcom County Medical Examiner official confirmed to reporters that the office was currently investigating the young woman’s death.

The TLC show, which aired from 2009 to 2013 “and featured families who prepared their children to compete in beauty pageants,” Page Six noted, was extremely popular for the network, as the show offered a raw, inside look at the brutal world of child beauty pageants. Posey garnered tons of fans along the way, many of whom shared tributes and their condolences over Posey’s unfortunate passing.

It’s clear that she touched the lives of many, and will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and fans.
