Sen. Grassley claims DOJ and FBI have targeted conservatives, ignored Hunter Biden

This week, whistleblowers exposed the FBI and the Justice Department in a way that calls into question the absolute fundamental integrity of both institutions.

According to Fox News, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) dropped a bombshell revelation this week that puts the FBI and the DOJ in an extremely negative, partisan light — two descriptors that neither institution should be called, ever.

“I believe that there were people in the FBI who had partisan views, that should never be involved in any investigation, that OK’d a go ahead of an investigation of Trump based upon fuzzy newspaper reporting,” the Iowa senator explained to Fox News’ Bill Hemmer.

Grassley’s bombshell claims were first made known in a letter he sent to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Chris Wray. Grassley named a number of people, specifically, who might be at the root of the problem, including Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault.

“All you got to do is go back to a lot of his social media stuff and then very partisan comments. And he was the one making these decisions to shut down or open an investigation,” Grassley said of the agent.

He added: “And I brought that information to Director Wray, or let’s put it this way, I put out a press release, and that guy was moved out of that decision-making process.”

The Republican senator explained that as far as the Hunter Biden scandal, the unnamed whistleblower gave his office information that “involves concerns about the FBI’s receipt and use of derogatory information related to Hunter Biden, and the FBI’s false portrayal of acquired evidence as disinformation.”

Only time will tell what comes of this new revelation of additional political rot at the core of what should be two of America’s most trustworthy and fair institutions.
