Rudy Giuliani blindsided in physical assault at New York grocery store

While stumping for his son Sunday during an impromptu meeting with supporters at the ShopRite on Staten Island, New York, former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani experienced a terrifying ordeal that left him shaken.

According to the New York Post, as he was exiting the restroom at the supermarket, he was physically attacked from behind.

“All of a sudden, I feel this ‘Bam!’ on my back,” Giuliani said. “I don’t know if they helped me not fall down, but I just about fell down, but I didn’t.”

The former mayor and counsel to President Donald Trump continued describing his harrowing experienced, saying, “I feel this tremendous pain in my back, and I’m thinking, what the — I didn’t even know what it was,” he said. “All of a sudden, I hear this guy say, ‘You’re a f–king scumbag,’ then he moves away so nobody can grab him.”

Giuliani told the Post what the 39-year-old supermarket employee said, who seemed to be angry about the Supreme Court’s recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.

“And he says, ‘You, you’re one of the people that’s gonna kill women. You’re gonna kill women,’” Giuliani said. “‘You and your f–king friend are gonna kill women.’ Then he starts yelling out all kinds of, just curses, and every once in a while, he puts in that woman thing.”

The person who attacked the former mayor was arrested and is now facing serious assault charges.

Further details concerning the attack weren’t immediately available, but Giuliani added: “The Supreme Court made a decision. You don’t go around attacking people because of it. I mean, go get it changed.”
