Retail thieves assault employees and customers during ‘mass looting’ event at a California Nordstrom

Major retailers are shuttering stores by the dozens across the state of California as state laws are now aimed, seemingly, at providing safe haven for criminals who engage in retail theft.

According to Breitbart, that was once again evidenced on a grand scale over the weekend as a dangerous “mass looting” event involving some 80 people occurred Saturday evening at the Nordstrom store in Walnut Creek, California, which is known to be an affluent Oakland suburb.

The shocking criminal event, which involved roughly 80 retail thieves, was seemingly highly organized, as roughly 25 vehicles were arranged to block the street that leads to the store entrance, allowing the band of thieves to essentially have free reign inside the store and block any responding police officers from catching them too quickly.

Making the situation even worse — and downright frightening — is the fact that the mass looters not only stole goods from the store, but they also assaulted Nordstrom employees, terrified shoppers, and “ransacked” the entire store, according to a CBS News report.

“Walnut Creek police investigators are in the process of reviewing surveillance footage to attempt to identify other suspects responsible for this brazen act,” a statement from the Walnut Creek Police Department said on Sunday.

So far, police have only managed to arrest three of the people involved in the large-scale criminal event, and a gun was reportedly seized from at least one of the suspects involved.

Unfortunately, residents and business owners in the area are still under an active threat, according to authorities, as they warned that similar events could soon take place.

“This has not been confirmed but, out of an abundance of caution, we’re alerting businesses and residents to be prepared,” the police warned in a statement on Sunday.
