Report: Kamala Harris evacuated from DNC on Jan. 6, 2021 when pipe bomb found

In a new twist to emerge at the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 unrest in the nation’s capital, it has just been revealed that then-Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was present at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee that very afternoon, when a pipe bomb was spotted just outside, as the New York Post reports.

A timeline of the incident outlined by Politico indicates that the explosive device was initially examined by Capitol Police a little after 1:00 p.m. on that fateful day, with Harris having been evacuated just moments later.

As CBS News notes, there was also a pipe bomb found at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee that same day, and though the FBI has publicized images of the bombs left at both locations, the person responsible for them has yet to be apprehended.

According to the Post, investigators suspect that the culprit behind the pipe bombs deposited the devices the evening prior to the protests that descended on the Capitol

Back in the Fall, previously unseen surveillance footage was released by the FBI in which a suspect was seen on a bench adjacent to the DNC’s facility on the evening of Jan. 5, 2021.

It is, however, somewhat surprising that after the more than 900 interviews, 400 individual tips, and 39,000 video files said by FBI Washington Field Office assistant director Steven D’Antuono to have been reviewed thus far, there is nobody yet in custody in connection to these incidents.

Noting that the pipe bombs themselves were indeed active and had the potential to cause real devastation if detonated, D’Antuono affirmed that catching the perpetrator is “still a priority for us, has always been a priority since Day One… .”

According to ABC News, those on the case are assessing the suspect’s mannerisms and movements in order to determine whether a man or a woman is to blame for the bombs, and the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are currently offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The unsolved pipe bomb mystery is just one of many still-unanswered questions as to precisely what occurred on Jan. 6 of last year, and the revelation that Harris had a potentially very close call with disaster that day will only intensify the citizenry’s demands for answers.
