More than half of Americans think Joe Biden should resign the presidency over Afghanistan debacle

In a recent Rasmussen poll it was discovered that 52 percent of Likely U.S. Voters believe President Joe Biden should resign over the recent event surrounding the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

Rasmussen Reports conducted a national telephone and online survey which asked voters about the current president, the military movements in the Middle East, and how they felt about the president following reports from the withdrawal.

According to Rasmussen’s poll, in addition to more than half of likely voters thinking the president should remove himself from office, the majority also believe Vice President Kamala Harris is NOT qualified to take over as president.

Only 39 percent disagree, and nine percent are not sure. The publication provided the survey question wording here, showing how respondents were prompted.

This poll too responses from 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on August 30-31, 2021 by Rasmussen Reports according to the publication.

Rasmussen also indicated that they have 95% level of confidence in this poll and that their margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points.

This report comes after weeks of outrage from both civilians and military members who consider the withdrawal from an unprecedented, unacceptable violation of American ideals.

The Biden administration’s movements in recent weeks mark a historical and devastating abandonment of Americans and American assets in what was a hard-fought war.

Lawmakers have suggested that if the president doesn’t remove himself the 25th Amendment should be invoked to forcibly take back the Oval Office from someone who has lost the faith of both politicians and the American people.
