As President Joe Biden and his top military commanders wade through a humiliating foreign policy debacle in Afghanistan, it’s now clear that anyone in the military who questions their leaders’ decisions will quickly suffer extreme retaliation.
According to the Washington Examiner, that was evidenced this week after Stuart Scheller, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps who honorably served for 17 years, published a video calling out top military brass for their handling of the Afghanistan situation that quickly went viral. A day later, he was relieved of his command.
Remarkable video from Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller calling out senior leaders on Afghanistan. “People are upset because senior leaders let them down, and none of them are raising their hands and accepting accountability or saying ‘we messed this up.'” pic.twitter.com/rgtp8OncCX

In the video, Scheller held nothing back as he clearly — and professionally — called out senior U.S. military leadership for the decisions made that resulted in not only a complete catastrophe, but also the death of 13 U.S. service members.
“Potentially all those people did die in vain if we don’t have senior leaders that own up and raise their hand and say ‘we did not do this well in the end,'” Scheller said in the video, calling on U.S. military leaders to show some accountability.
Clearly, Biden’s military commanders weren’t thrilled with Scheller thinking for himself and presenting an honest critique, as he announced a day after the video made the rounds online that he’d been relieved of duty, while showing remarkable class as he made the sad announcement.
“To all my friends across the social networks. I have been relieved for cause based on a lack of trust and confidence as of 14:30 today,” Scheller said.
“My chain of command is doing exactly what I would do … if I were in their shoes,” Scheller added. “I appreciate the opportunities AITB command provided. To all the news agencies asking for interviews … I will not be making any statements other than what’s on my social platforms until I exit the Marine Corps.”
As of this writing, it’s still unclear whether Scheller was discharged from the military or simply relieved of his command, but either way, it’s a shame that he was punished while Biden’s failed military leadership still holds their positions.
