Tucker Carlson, one of Fox News’ highest-rated primetime hosts, triggered an unprecedented response from the Pentagon this week as he laid into President Joe Biden for making a “mockery” of the U.S. military on the heels of several gender-related military news headlines.
A number of blue-checkmark liberal journalists on Twitter went as far as calling for the cancellation of Carlson’s show — and Fox News — on the heels of his controversial remarks. Some of those tweets quickly went viral, as Carlson, the self-proclaimed “enemy of groupthink,” has been on the left’s hitlist for quite some time.

According to Politico, in his Thursday evening airing of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the host slammed the Biden administration for touting the historic appointment of two female generals to the role of combatant commanders. The president also spoke of “maternity flight suits” and other female-specific moves being made at the Pentagon to reflect the new push for gender diversity.
Carlson was quick to point out that while China’s military “becomes more masculine,” Biden’s version of the military is seemingly becoming “more feminine.”
“So, we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It’s a mockery of the U.S. military,” Carlson said, which is the statement that elicited harsh blowback from a number of top U.S. military leaders.
“But what we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military,” said Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby while admitting that the military continued to make improvements to make women feel more comfortable and included.
A growing list of other high-ranking military leaders pounced on Carlson’s comments, calling his statement “divisive” and vowing that women in the military will ultimately prove the Fox News host wrong.
As far as canceling Carlson’s show, well, that’s nothing more than a fantasy for his haters, at best. Carlson is quite literally the backbone of Fox News’ ratings and it’ll certainly take more than the popular host taking a shot at Biden’s push to feminize the U.S. military to boot him off the air.
