Kamala Harris nowhere to be found as record number of illegals arrested in Laredo border sector

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris might have temporarily lucked out in the sense that the mainstream media has pulled away from the ongoing immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border, but new data coming in suggests that the situation is deteriorating, quickly.

According to The Blaze, Harris is nowhere to be seen as arrests are surging in the popular Laredo, Texas sector of the southern U.S. border, with some 760 illegal immigrants being arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents, compared to only 60 during a matching time period last year.

Keep in mind, these arrests aren’t simply people who’ve been caught jumping the border — these are arrests of illegal aliens who’ve been charged with crimes, including drug charges, sexual assaults and other heinous acts.

The record number of arrests have taken place since the beginning of the fiscal year, which began in October 2020. Compared to the same time period the previous year, only 60 illegal aliens were arrested for crimes, making this year, mostly under Biden and Harris, a startling 900% increase.

A vast number of the arrests seem to revolve around drug-related offenses, which makes sense given that a number of those arrested are likely at least affiliated to some degree with Mexico’s powerful drug cartels.

“In an effort to secure our nation’s borders, as these narcotics seizures clearly illustrate, CBP has implemented enforcement strategies that have furthered the disruption of dangerous drugs entering the country,” Acting Laredo Port Director Eugene Crawford said in a statement after a recent bust which resulted in the seizure of 167 pounds of methamphetamine and 21 pounds of cocaine.

Just last week, Border Patrol agents worked with Laredo police officers successfully shut down three stash houses and arrested a whopping 182 illegal aliens, many of whom originated from the “Northern Triangle” countries of Central America.

While Harris still hasn’t shown any leadership by taking a few hours to visit the southern U.S. border, according to Axios, she’s scheduled to take her first trip abroad, as she’ll fly to Guatemala on Sunday and head to Mexico on Monday.

Instead of directly tackling the migrant problem that stems from Guatemala, she’ll reportedly arrive with gifts, including the promise of COVID-19 vaccinations and millions in humanitarian aid. She’ll reportedly also “address” corruption in the region, which the White House blames for so many of the area’s residents fleeing to America.
