Kamala Harris accused of ‘doing everything she can to not do her job’

Though billed by the mainstream media as a strong, capable, and impressive leader poised to play a pivotal role in the administration of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris is gaining a reputation for being increasingly detached from her duties and, as Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce alleges, is “doing everything she can to not do her job.”

As worsening crises continue to engulf with White House, it has become evident to pundits such as Bruce that Harris is willing to do whatever it takes to avoid tackling the challenge of her office in a head-on manner and to occupy herself with extraneous matters of a far more political nature.

During a Thursday appearance on Fox & Friends, Bruce pointed to the unfolding disaster in Afghanistan caused by Biden’s stubborn determination to withdraw U.S. forces and end evacuation efforts in Kabul by Aug. 31 as evidence of the administration’s mounting failures.

“Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris is people you wanna call if you need to be rescued,” Bruce declared, pointing out on the same day a terrorist bombing at the airport in Kabul killed 13 American service members, the vice president was set to appear in California at a campaign event for embattled California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is facing a recall election next month.

The notion that Harris would spend time on such matters when Afghanistan is in the midst of collapse and American citizens and allies are on the verge of being left behind to the whims of the Taliban is, to Bruce, “an obscene display of politicking – the most obscene in a long time,” as the Daily Caller noted.

Bruce’s criticism of Harris’ seeming lack of work ethic when it comes to the work of the vice presidency was scathing, indeed, with the commentator adding, “This is a woman who is arguably – could be the most powerful woman in the world who the international press would view and take seriously.”

However, as Bruce pointed out, Harris “couldn’t wait to get out of the country” and head to Singapore and Vietnam as Afghanistan descended further into chaos, in yet another attempt to sidestep and avoid association in the minds of voters with the controversies plaguing the commander in chief.

Bruce is not alone in her condemnation of Harris’ performance as Biden’s number-two, with Tiana Lowe of the Washington Examiner last week declaring her to be the “most useless” vice president of the last hundred years, pointing to her refusal to confront her assigned duties related to the southern border crisis as well as her obvious attempt to distance herself from the disaster in Afghanistan.

Notably, it is not just conservative pundits who have taken note of the shoddy way in which Harris has approached her role, as a recent poll from Rasmussen Reports revealed that a staggering 55% of likely voters feel she is either “not qualified” or “not at all qualified” to serve as president – a strong signal that despite all the hype, she may never end up as the Democrats’ heir apparent after all.
