Joe Biden and family stay at billionaires private island for Thanksgiving

President Joe Biden as well as first children Hunter and Ashley, as well as Hunter’s wife Melissa and a number of Biden grandchildren were at billionaire David Rubenstein’s private island compound for Thanksgiving.

According to The Daily Mail, Joe Biden arrived on Tuesday after some hot contention and the White House communications staff defending the stay.

Biden made his appearance on the “posh” Nantucket island where he joined the rest of his family with their high-profile host to spend the family holiday on the eastern seaboard, away from the troubles of Washington D.C.

“The Bidens’ children Hunter and Ashley were with them as were Hunter’s wife Melissa and a gaggle of grandkids: Naomi, Finnegan, Maisy, Natalie, Hunter, and Beau Biden; and, Peter Neal, Naomi’s fiancé,” the Daily Mail reported.

Joe and Jill Biden arrived after they took part in a DC Central Kitchen service project with Vice President and second gentleman Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff.

News of the first families’ plans made the rounds and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was forced to defend the couple in the face of allegations that so many Americans were struggling to pay for Thanksgiving dinners.

Psaki responded to the allegations, saying that food prices really weren’t that high and everyone should spend the holiday with loved ones, regardless.

“The White House stressed the Bidens have been going to Nantucket for 46 years since before Biden was a senator,” the Daily Mail reported.

During their stay they will be vising their close family friends, the Rubenstein‘s $20million 13-acre compound on Nantucket Habor, an estate that Biden is only known to have visited in 2014 when he was vice president.
