Jill Biden declares speculation about husband’s cognitive state ‘ridiculous’

As speculation continues to mount not just about President Joe Biden’s cognitive status, but also as to whether he intends to seek reelection in 2024, first lady Jill Biden recently shrugged off concerns about the her husband’s mental sharpness as “ridiculous,” as the New York Post reports.

During an interview with Rita Braver of CBS Sunday Morning, Mrs. Biden was confronted with the observation that “quite a few Americans have some questions about the president’s current mental fitness.”

Braver’s question was founded on a recent Politico/Morning Consult poll in which only 40% of respondents indicated that the president is in “good health,” and only 46% believing that he is mentally fit for the office he holds.

In response to the concerns raised by Braver, the first lady defiantly replied, “I think that’s ridiculous,” according to the Post.

As of right now, Joe Biden is the oldest individual ever to occupy the Oval Office, and if he does run for a second term in 2024, he will be 81 years of age on Election Day, a fact which has been cited by those calling for greater formal scrutiny of his physical condition as well as his mental faculties.

The Hill reported earlier this year that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is of the opinion that all governmental leaders who have reached a certain age ought to submit to cognitive testing.

Haley opined, “…let’s face it, we’ve got a lot of people in leadership positions that are old. And that’s not being disrespectful. That’s a fact. And when it comes to that, this shouldn’t be partisan. We should seriously be looking at the ages of the people that are running our country and understand if that’s what we want.”

Former White House physician Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) has voiced similar sentiments, though his pertain more specifically to the current president, with the doctor publicly demanding the administration of mental fitness testing and declaring earlier this year that “there is something so obviously wrong with Biden’s cognitive fitness it was hard to watch,” adding that “he should not remain president for another second.”

It is sad – though not particularly surprising – that Jill Biden continues to be so dismissive of those pointing out the cognitive decline in her husband that is so glaringly obvious to millions, but considering that the massively unpopular Kamala Harris is next in line for his job, she and the rest of the Democrat Party will likely continue propping him up and feeding him lines for as long as possible.
