While Vice President Kamala Harris seemingly refuses to visit the southern U.S. border where the influx of unaccompanied illegal migrant children is spiraling out of control by the hour, that’s not stopping her from capitalizing on the crisis.
According to the New York Post, illegal minor children who will soon be transported to a new shelter in Long Beach, California will be presented with their first American gift as part of their welcoming kits — a shiny new copy of Harris’ 2019 book, titled “Superheroes are Everywhere.”
Aside from the numerous benefits that the illegal children will likely receive upon entering the United States illegally, their first introduction to life in America will come from the pages of Harris’ book, which has a cover depicting Harris holding hands with little children.
According to the books’ Amazon listing, where it sells for $10.99 in Kindle form, the book aims to inspire children to look around for superheroes or find the power to become one themselves.
“From Vice President Kamala Harris comes a picture book with an empowering message: Superheroes are all around us–and if we try, we can all be heroes too. Now a #1 New York Times bestseller!” the bolded Amazon description reads.
“In this empowering and joyful picture book that speaks directly to kids, Kamala Harris takes readers through her life and shows them that the power to make the world a better place is inside all of us,” the description continues.
The book will be part of a kit welcoming unaccompanied minors to the newly-opened Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, which was renovated to house the continued influx of illegal migrant children amid record-setting numbers of them crossing the border.
According to Fox News, questions have been raised over who is paying for the books to be included in the kits. Attempts to reach out to U.S. Health and Human Services for more details were reportedly not answered.
Harris has continued to take fire over her glaring absence on the border, physically and from the standpoint of many Americans who believe proper leadership is required to begin tackling the border crisis, even if it means just a few minutes out of her schedule to hold a press conference in front of a migrant holding facility.
