The mainstream media and big tech giants went to great lengths last fall to suppress explosive accusations about then-candidate Joe Biden’s troubled son, Hunter, but in recent days, it is the man himself who has been providing insight into a very sordid past and highly questionable dealings.
As Fox News reports, in his forthcoming memoir Beautiful Things, Hunter Biden goes into detail about – among other things – the beginnings of his scandalous relationship with the widow of his late brother Beau, who succumbed to brain cancer in 2015, and he explains that the ill-fated affair was the product of addiction combined with grief.
According to Hunter, in the aftermath of Beau’s death, he started spending substantial amounts of time at the home of widow Hallie Biden, helping her care for the children his brother left behind and spending his nights on a bed in her den.
However, things took a decidedly different turn after Hunter completed a drug addiction recovery program at an Arizona rehab center, and he asked Hallie to come pick him up for the return trip home, claiming:
I didn’t trust myself to make it home without backsliding – without taking a detour into the pit I fell into on my way there.
She flew out the next day. I was at my lowest, she was at her neediest, and we clung to each other with abandon. We talked at length about how much we had come to rely on each other, how our health and well-being seemed dependent on the love we’d grown to share.
In an apparent attempt to engender sympathy for how the unconventional arrangement came to be, Hunter asserts that the pair began to believe Beau could be kept alive in some sense by virtue of their union, that “by loving each other we somehow could love him back into existence,” as Fox News noted.
Ultimately, the relationship did not last beyond a few months, with Hunter coming to the determination that the entanglement was a “giant miscalculation on both our parts, errors in judgment born of a uniquely tragic time.”
The onslaught of revelations about Hunter Biden’s troubled past has continued apace in recent days, with Biden also admitting to CBS Sunday Morning that the abandoned laptop computer that was at the center of significant controversy in the run-up to the 2020 election – and which his own father claimed was part of a Russian disinformation campaign – “certainly” could have been his, despite prior denials.
That computer was reported to contain a trove of emails and other documents that raised serious questions about the propriety of Hunter’s wildly lucrative foreign business dealings and his father’s potential involvement with the same, information that was also said to expose the depths of depravity to which his drug addiction caused him to sink.
Making the media rounds is simply part of Hunter Biden’s transparent push to sell more books, and sadly, the stunning lack of curiosity among liberal journalists about the possible corruption and national security implications contained in his revelations is almost certain to endure.
