In a telling – and indeed alarming – display earlier this week, Vice President Kamala Harris was caught on camera lauding a radical college student who claimed that Israel is engaged in committing “ethnic genocide,” assuring the woman that “[her] truth should not be suppressed, as the New York Post reports.
Appearing before a group of students at Virginia’s George Mason University as part of a commemoration of National Voter Registration Day, Harris solicited questions from the attendees after concluding her own remarks.
That is when a student, who self-identified as “part-Yemeni, part-Iranian,” observed that “over the summer, there have been, like, protests and demonstrations…standing with Palestine, but then just a few days ago there were funds allocated to continue backing Israel,” a reference to approval by the House last week of $1 billion in funding for that country’s Iron Dome missile defense system.
The student went on to explain her disappointment in that appropriation decision, saying that it “hurts my heart because it’s an ethnic genocide and a displacement of people – the same that happened in America – and I’m sure you’re aware of this.”
Attempting to put her complaints in context, the student went on, saying “I bring this up also because of the issue of how Americans are struggling because of lack of healthcare, public healthcare, lack of affordable housing and all this money ends up going to inflaming Israel and backing Saudi Arabia and whatnot.”

According to reports, Harris nodded along with the student’s comments, in what could be interpreted as agreement, adding that she “was glad” the specific concerns were raised and continuing, “your voice, your perspective, your experience, your truth should not be suppressed and it must be heard, right?”
As Fox News reported later in the week, Harris’ apparent inability or unwillingness to check the student on her claims about Israel did not go unnoticed by one of this country’s most dangerous adversaries, as a state media outlet in Iran known as Press TV quickly touted a clip of the exchange
Known for its regular promotion of anti-Israel propaganda, Press TV also recently gave significant attention to a clip in which Harris doubled down on a debunked claim that U.S. Border Patrol agents used whips to control Haitian migrants, in yet another troubling sign that our vice president seems to be gaining a fan base inside one of the world’s most brutal regimes.
