GOP lawmaker says Nancy Pelosi is implicated in Jan. 6 riots

Given the “fortress” surrounding the U.S. Capitol and the continued deployment of thousands of National Guard troops, some lawmakers are questioning whether or not House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is taking such measures to compensate for what they believe could have been her failure to properly secure the area during the Jan. 6 riots.

According to Lifezette, one of those lawmakers is Rep. Jerry Carl, who suggested last week that Pelosi is using the optics of a fortified fence and contingent of troops to “distract” from her alleged failure to take appropriate action to secure the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

“She should have played a larger role because she is ultimately responsible for that security. I think she’s trying to distract from that, so she doesn’t take any heat for it,” Carl said.

He added that he doesn’t believe Pelosi would have encouraged what happened but suggested that “she left security very, very weak for obvious reasons.”

Carl went on to describe the events of that day, explaining that out of the tens of thousands of people who were at the protests on Jan. 6, only a small percentage were responsible for the tragic events that would eventually take place. He then questioned why Pelosi responded with the bizarre encampment-like scenario, again suggesting that it was a strategy to distract the public.

“But the way Nancy Pelosi responds — we’re spending $2 million a week for a high fence with razor wire with our National Guard,” Carl said. “I don’t know what it’s costing us outside of D.C. But here, it costs us $2 million a week for that fence to be up and those guardsmen to be on the frontlines.”

Forbes reported in February that a group of Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rodney Davis (R-IL), James Comer (R-TN), and Devin Nunes (R-CA) penned a joint letter to the Speaker in which they suggested that she delayed the National Guard response to the Capitol when it was actually needed.

“The response from the [sergeant-at-arms], acting on your behalf, was that the ‘optics’ of the National Guard on-site were not good and the intelligence didn’t support the move,” the scathing letter read.

We may never find out the real cause of why National Guard troops didn’t arrive on time to quell the enraged mob on Jan. 6 and who was ultimately responsible for that failure, but fingers are being pointed in both directions, so it could definitely be awhile.

May I just say what a comfort to find someone that
actually understands what they’re discussing on the internet.
You certainly know how to bring a problem to light and make
it important. More and more people ought to check this out and understand this
side of your story. I was surprised you aren’t more popular since you most certainly have the gift.

A fascinating discussion is worth comment. I think that
you need to write more about this topic, it may not be a taboo subject but generally people do not talk about such subjects.
To the next! Cheers!!
