Five Oregon counties vote to join Idaho on Tuesday

Rural Oregonians have voted to secede from their state in an effort to become part of the state of Idaho, according to a report by Breitbart News

There were five counties that voted to remove themselves from Oregon and join Idaho on Tuesday, according to details offered by The Idaho Statesman

“Voters in Sherman, Lake, Grant, Baker and Malheur counties all voted for ballot measures that would lead to them becoming Idahoans,” the Statesman reported. “People in Union and Jefferson counties had already voted in favor during the November election. . .”

According to the publication, this was part of a project known as the “Greater Idaho” project, which would, in essence, move the border between the two states.

Moving the border accomplishes a few things, the most prevalent of which is allowing more conservative Oregonians to join a state that is closer to their political belief system.

This isn’t the first news to break about the project, according to Breitbart. The publication reported in April that a political action committee formed in 2019  was attempting to push for the redrawing.

“Petitions gathered by Move Oregon’s Border have forced the placement of ballot initiatives to change the border between Oregon and Idaho for consideration by voters in nine Oregon counties,” Breitbart reported at the time.

“Move Oregon’s Border continues to collect signatures in seven other counties where no vote has occurred yet: Curry, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath, Harney, Morrow, and Umatilla counties,” the group’s website states.

In a statement about the proposed change Move Oregon’s Border founder and president of Citizens for Greater Idaho Mike McCarter said “This election proves that rural Oregon wants out of Oregon. If Oregon really believes in liberal values such as self-determination, the Legislature won’t hold our counties captive against our will. If we’re allowed to vote for which government officials we want, we should be allowed to vote for which government we want as well.”

  3. Maybe this will wake democrats up to the fact that We The People don’t want their liberal crap. They have pushed us too far, and we are sick and tired of it…

  4. I also live in Michigan….I agree! Something has to give! I moved here when it was a red state (2017) and now I look at what Whitmer and her comrades want to turn this state into and I cringe, wondering if the 2018 election was also rigged to allow the Dems to take over this state. I believe that we saw the 2020 Senate seat stolen from John James also….and how many others, besides Trump? I am hoping Michigan legislators will hear our cries to look into that fraud and do a forensic audit. We already know of so many absolutes on the fraud in several counties…why not take it the entire way? Praying all 50 states will do this. We cannot correct it, if we see our Reps putting blinders on and ignoring that it happened. Besides…we need to uphold the laws of the land…and see many, MANY go to jail for being involved in this crime.

  5. After these people win .I hope all Republicans join as one real USA and put borders walls where their states join Democrat states then succeed and become United Patriotic Americans then have our own election with Id’s inperson. Let governor of Florida and TRUMP help till election.

  6. I am happy to see right wing conservatives finally standing up IN PUBLIC to show their dissent towards this evil marxist form of government.
I also suggest covert actions to expose certain truths, individual feudalist “leaders”, and their powerful supporters; and hold our own set of courts to convict and imprison them.
    We must regain control!!!

  10. Read Article 4 of the Constitution to see the chances of that happening and/or how long it could take and if you think an amendment to the Constitution could make it happen read Article 5 and the task that would be.

  11. I hope they’re able to do it, it has to start somewhere, I live in Michigan and I wish I could afford to move. As far as the spam, they’re just lazy leftist, and no doubt they got their experimental injections and no doubt this winter they’ll be dropping like flies, so they won’t be a bother anymore.

  12. As ever, this requires the consent of both legislatures concerned and of the Congress. Technically this is “forming a State out of a junction” of an existing State (Idaho) with a part of another State (Oregon). You’ll never get the consent of this current Congress – but you would very likely get the consent of the next Congress. The tough part will be the Oregon legislature. On the one hand, I don’t think anyone west of the Cascades cares to have the population east of the Cascades for neighbors. On the other hand, I don’t think the denizens of Salem and Portland much like losing electoral votes to Idaho. The balance in the house and Senate won’t change, but suddenly Idaho would be a far more important State, and Oregon a less important State, to “carry.”

I support this, now to move Ohio there. My belief is this: the government has earned all of the mistrust that it has and is never to be trusted again in its present, bloated form. There is so much needless that can be gotten rid of for example (I know many will think ‘No, but let it sink in, why do we need them?) the Pentagon, all the alphabet agencies, the UN. And that is just a start Washington DC is a foreign entity, in 1871 England and the Vatican bought it making it US.Inc. not USA. My further belief is we should live in colonies, a movement like it is underway mostly by sheriffs but I’m part of it too.

  14. Who cares how much you guys make? I ain’t interested to know. Don’t include your posts here.

  15. All these spams should just be removed. You can write a piece of code that does it. Like the Dominion machines that flip votes. I hope Oregoners Do succeed from Oregon. Parts of Washington and California can do the same and join Montana, Arizona and Nevada respectively.
