Fauci’s ‘damning’ emails should prompt resignation says top GOP Senator

As speculation about the true origins of COVID-19 continues to heat up, scrutiny of infectious disease expert and top Biden advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci is also intensifying, with Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) declaring this weekend that the cache of “damning” emails involving the doctor revealed last week prove the need for his immediate resignation, as Breitbart News exclusively reports.

Speaking with host Matthew Boyle of Breitbart News Saturday, Marshall referenced the voluminous correspondence produced pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in which Fauci, among other things, openly discussed the possibility that the virus originated at a Wuhan, China laboratory, despite publicly downplaying the notion.

Calling on Fauci to step down from his post, Marshall explained, “Those emails are very damning. He was withholding information and not being forthright with the president of the United States and with the American people.”

I think Dr. Fauci should do the right thing and resign, and I’m sue they’re planning his retirement party right now as we speak,” Marshall added.

The senator from Kansas elaborated on his belief that Fauci’s public proclamations throughout the pandemic have been driven mainly by political considerations as well as a desire to conceal unlawful conduct.

“His decisions are based on politics and covering up a huge potential crime, ok. So his decisions are based upon the fact that he loved viral gain of function,” referencing the process of enhancing a pathogen to boost its transmissibility and virulence, reported to have occurred at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a facility which Fauci has admitted received funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Marshall is not the only leader now calling for Fauci’s ouster, as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) claimed in a lengthy op-ed this weekend that the doctor’s repeated dismissals of the notion that the virus could have come from a Chinese lab were “a massive failure in judgment from a prominent public health official – though in retrospect unsurprising, given [Fauci’s] history of holding back the truth based on personal judgments about when he things the American people are ‘ready’ to hear the facts.”

According to Rubio, “Anthony Fauci has repeatedly demonstrated a history of moving goal-posts when it comes to public health, withholding facts that don’t conform with his own narrative, and issuing inappropriate personal judgments that distort the truth” and therefore must be fired by President Joe Biden.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) also made the case for Fauci’s departure on Friday, arguing that the doctor’s “recently released emails and investigative reporting” on the origins of COVID-19 are “shocking” and require not just his resignation, but also a full congressional investigation, a contention with which millions of Americans assuredly agree.
