Dr. Nicole Saphier wants NYC Mayor Adams removed over youth mask mandates

Newly-elected New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) was touted to be an upgrade from the city’s last goofy, progressive Mayor Bill de Blasio (D), but in many ways, Adams is proving to be far worse than his predecessor.

One of those ways includes his insistence that young children should continue to be muzzled with a face mask, even though the science hasn’t supported that action from the beginning. According to Fox News, Dr. Nicole Saphier went as far as insisting that Adams be removed from office for forcing children into such a dangerous environment.

During a recent interview on Fox’s America Reports, Dr. Saphier laid out several reasons why masking young children is becoming more dangerous by the day.

“It’s important to remember that the World Health Organization has never recommended masking children 2 to 5 years of age. In fact, they only recommend selective masking in children 6 to 12 years of age. But again, CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics continues to say everyone masked two and up.” Dr. Saphier said.

She added: “But, thankfully, Europe continues to come out as the heroes putting forth the data on children and masking. We had the Spanish study which showed 5-year-olds who did not wear masks had no change in transmission rates when it came to 6-year-olds who were wearing masks. All they showed, the older you are, the more likely you are to spread the virus, which we’ve been saying all along.”

Dr. Saphier went on to conclude that there’s simply no hard data that suggests masking children has any effect on the transmission of the virus.

Given that we know masking young children for so long absolutely does have other critical developmental risks, commonsense parents understand that keeping their children’s faces covered is dangerous in so many ways, and could have long-term effects that we don’t even know about yet.

“Children should not be masked and the New York City mayor who is continuing to mask toddlers–it is upsetting and negligent and he should be removed from office at this point because he’s making these points without any data to back it up. It will only cause harm,” Dr. Saphier said.

Perhaps Mayor Adams should quit worrying about appeasing a small “woke” radical section of his base and start putting the best interests of New York City’s children in mind. He still has time to correct this.
