DeSantis suing Biden administration over illegal immigrant placement in Florida

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) of Florida has taken action to file a suit against the Biden Administration on behalf of his state claiming that the Biden Administration was damaging the state with his policy on illegal immigration.

According to a report in the  Daily Wire, DeSantis has sued the administration claiming that the “ideological” Biden White House has put into place a “destructive and illegal” catch-and-release border policy.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody appeared with DeSantis when he made his announcement on Tuesday in Fort Meyers, Florida where the pair outlined the damaging effects of the administration’s policy.

The state officials cited the record number of encouragers with illegal aliens that United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have experience in recent months.

“This is absolutely a crisis. It’s a crisis of the administration’s own making,” DeSantis said. “This continued release of folks on a very mass scale and unprecedented scale will saddle states and local governments with health, financial, economic, and public safety costs.”

Some estimations put the number of illegals encountered by CBP to be well over 1 million individuals in 2021 alone, which DeSantis called a “total disaster.” The Florida governor also stated he believes the administration is intentionally sending unscreened illegal immigrants to Florida:

“I think this is intentional, I think this is ideological,” DeSantis said at the conference Tuesday. “They want a massive illegal migration into this country.”

“It’s very clear the open borders is the Biden Administration policy. They want a massive, illegal migration into this country,” DeSantis added. “They are farming out people all across communities across the United States, including here in Florida.”

Florida is also taking action, prohibiting their law enforcement agencies to facilitate illegal immigration to Florida.
