Cruz outlines GOP plan to impeach President Biden

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz believes that a Congress led by the GOP could impeach President Joe Biden, whether he is believed to be guilty of impeachable offenses by other members of congress.

According to The Washington Examiner, Cruz said impeachment could happen “whether it’s justified or not” after “the Democrats weaponized impeachment,” with their twice attempt at impeaching former President Donald Trump during his term.

“I said at the time when we have a Democratic president and a Republican House, you can expect an impeachment proceeding,” Cruz said on his podcast, Verdict with Ted Cruz, on Friday.

“That’s not how impeachment is meant to work, but I think the Democrats crossed that line, and I think they’ll be enormous pressure on a Republican House to begin impeachment proceedings.”

While the Republican said that he’s not delighted with the the idea of impeachment being normalized, he said he does believe that in the case of Biden there are “potentially multiple grounds” to consider.

Cruz cited “the utter lawlessness of President Biden’s refusal to enforce the border,” as a reason to consider impeachment of the sitting president of the United States.

According to the Texas senator, Biden has defied the federal immigration laws by allowing “2 million people to come in here unimpeded.”

Cruz said that he is “very optimistic” about the Republicans’ chances in the midterm elections, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a favorite to become speaker if Republicans retake the House.

Republican s are less certain about their chance of Republicans taking the majority in the Senate to make the GOP the controlling party in both houses of Congress.
