Bongino: Secret Service sources reveal severity of Biden’s cognitive decline

Throughout the 2020 presidential campaign, the verbal miscues and glaring gaffes made by then-candidate Joe Biden provided tremendous fodder for conservative critics who cast doubt on his fitness for office.

Now that he has ascended to the Oval Office, questions about Biden’s cognitive acuity remain, with political commentator and radio host Dan Bongino telling Sean Hannity on Thursday that sources inside the U.S. Secret Service have told him that the president is “in real, significant trouble,” and that his deteriorating mental condition “is the worst-kept secret in the White House.”

During an appearance on Hannity’s prime time Fox News program, Bongino indicated that he maintains ties with current Secret Service agents and has been told that Biden’s condition is shockingly bad.

Bongino declared, “from what I’ve heard from people in my network, everyone knows how bad it is. Everyone. It’s not a mystery. It is the worst-kept secret in the White House.”

The latest speculation around Biden’s cognitive health has centered around a formal request made by more than 30 Democrat lawmakers that the president renounce his sole authority to initiate the use of nuclear weapons, a move reported by the New York Post on Thursday.

In his appearance on Hannity, Bongino suggested that this particular development could be evidence that even members of Biden’s own party are coming to terms with the very real dangers his decline may pose, asking, “is there something these Democrats aren’t telling us?”

After committing numerous verbal faux pas on the campaign trail throughout 2020, Biden has continued to slip up regularly since being declared the winner of the election. In December, he notably botched the announcement of his nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services, getting both the individual’s name and his prospective title wrong.

Bongino is not the only one harboring concerns about Biden’s mental status, with a recent Business Insider poll revealing that roughly a third of Americans are “dissatisfied” with his cognitive ability to do his job.

All of this begs the question of just how much further Biden’s capacity will slide as his term progresses, with Bongino further musing, “we’re only in the second month of this. How bad is this gonna be four years from now?”
