Biden family faces possible special counsel investigation

Fox News “Fox & Friends” Wednesday took on the issue of finances and the Biden family following months of questions by voters about whether they have leveraged their position for financial and political gain.

According to a report by Fox News, there could be a call for an outside investigation into dealings that both President Joe Biden and son Hunter Biden have had with entities in both China and Russia, as well as a joint banking account.

Constitutional law expert Jonathan Turley appeared on the show to talk about a report that contained allegations that Joe and Hunter Biden shared a bank account and what, if any, nefarious actions may have taken place between the pair.

Turley said he believes it’s time for an independent special counsel to be appointed to look into the allegations.

“With these disclosures, we have accounts being used to pay both Hunter and Joe Biden and money being reimbursed to Hunter Biden from an individual associated with a company called Rosemont Seneca,” Turley said, referencing the newly released information.

“Now that’s a company that has been tied to payments from China and Russia. And so this is getting more and more serious. The question is why the Justice Department hasn’t considered the appointment of a special counsel.

“We know there’s a criminal investigation into the tax issues, possible money laundering. But there are also serious questions about whether the Biden family conducted an extensive influence-peddling operation involving not just Hunter but his uncle and potentially the president of the United States.”

These allegations are particularly interesting to conservatives who are waiting to see if Democrats are as concerned about foreign interference with political leaders now as in the last presidential term.

The extent to which congressional Democrats were willing to go to ensure there was no intermingling of international affairs in the United States election or presidential decision making in the years 2016 is likely the energy that conservatives are looking to see now that it’s 2021 and the White House has been distinctly tinged blue.
