Attorneys turn Ted Cruz into the Texas State Bar Association claiming he attempted to overturn the 2020 election results

The State Bar of Texas has received a complaint from a group of lawyers who say that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

According to a report by The Washington Examiner, Cruz, “played a leading role” in trying to change the election results, something the group is calling fraudulent.

“The lawyers from the 65 Project, a group aiming ‘to hold accountable’ lawyers who tried to overturn the 2020 election, asked for Cruz to be investigated and for sanctions to be placed on him for his role in several lawsuits to overturn the election results,” the Examiner reported.

“The lawsuits mentioned in the complaint include Kelly v. Pennsylvania and Texas v. Pennsylvania, in which Cruz agreed to represent former President Donald Trump and Pennsylvania Republicans in litigation before the U.S. Supreme Court.”

The group accused Cruz of being a major part of the effort and reported him, seemingly with the hopes that he will lose his law license:

“Mr. Cruz played a leading role in the effort to overturn the 2020 elections,” the complaint reads. “And while the same can be said about several other elected officials, Mr. Cruz’s involvement was manifestly different.”

“The 65 Project is a far-left dark money smear machine run by a who’s who of shameless Democrat hacks,” a Cruz spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. “They’re not a credible organization, and their complaint won’t be worth the paper it’s printed on.”

“He stood up for what he thought was right!!!” said one social media user in refrence to the report. “I can respect that!!! Wish more of them had back bone!!! And he was not wrong in what he said!!! It would be easier to take if they would have investigated instead of turning a blind eye to the election fraud!!!”
