AOC tells pro-abortion protesters to get ‘into the streets’ in wake of Roe ruling

Despite all of their wailing and gnashing of teeth over the Jan. 6, 2021 unrest at the U.S. Capitol, several high-profile Democrats saw nothing wrong with urging supporters to stir up trouble of their own after the nation’s highest court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) imploring pro-abortion demonstrators to get “into the streets,” as the Daily Wire reports.

In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision reversing Roe, the progressive firebrand was captured on video rallying a group of protesters by declaring the court “illegitimate” and attempting to spur them to further action. WATCH:

Voicing her opinion on the ruling to CNN, Ocasio-Cortez accused the high court of choosing “to endanger the lives of all women and all birthing people in this country,” and when she was asked by Mary Margaret Olohan – on multiple occasions – whether she would condemn the violent and destructive actions advocated by pro-abortion groups such as Jane’s Revenge, she remained conspicuously silent. The lawmaker’s unwillingness to disclaim calls for violence is especially shocking, considering the spate of threats – and even attacks – on crisis pregnancy centers across the country from pro-abortion activist groups, not to mention a planned assassination attempt on the life of conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

AOC was not alone among Democrat legislators calling for an uprising in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision, with Rep. Maxine Waters (CA) appearing before a crowd of demonstrators in D.C. Friday and urging them to “defy” the ruling, as the Washington Examiner noted.

“You ain’t seen nothing yet. Women are going to control their bodies no matter how they try and stop us. The hell with the Supreme Court. We will defy them. Women will be in control of their bodies. And if they think Black women are intimidated or afraid, they got another thought coming,” Waters raged.

Sadly, the type of reckless rhetoric spewed by the likes of AOC, Waters, and their supporters may already be bearing awful fruit, as a large group of protesters attempted to breach the Arizona Senate building while legislators were in session Friday night, forcing police to deploy tear gas. With Antifa mobilizing in the nation’s capital while pledging to “burn it down” and pro-abortion groups vowing further unrest, it remains to be seen whether the nation is indeed on the cusp of a “Summer of Rage.”
